Theres
an excitement filling the clubs of New York that has not been felt or seen
in a long time. An emotionally charged band has surfaced in a period where
so many groups are struggling to find a sound entirely their own. Paging
Grace, the crowd-pleasing, Long Island foursome, have been winning over
all of New York since their debut in 2006, and are now paging the rest of
the world in hopes of doing the same.
Voted Best of LI by the
Long Island Press in 2008, Paging Grace is known for winning over
even the toughest of crtics. The release of All Youre Made
Of EP" is a testament to the bands dedication and development
throughout the last year an a half. Produced by Dave Caggiano & Sean
French (Brand New, Straylight Run, & Sugarcult), the band set
forth to create a more timeless avenue of sound. What wound up on the record
far exceeded everyones expectations. Even as a demo, their debut
single Leave impacted radio on January 7th of 2008 in
the Hot Adult Contemporary Genre. The band has already received
an excellent response on both mainstream & syndicated radio. Including
being awarded Hot AC Most Added New
Artist for the week of their debut & reaching
#1 on the Independent Music
Network syndicated radio
show within just 3 weeks of being added to the program.
Fate it seems, had something to do with the formation
of this band. After endless struggles to find equally motivated musicians,
singer/songwriter Chris Trent decided to give an online classifieds
a try. As fate would have it, so did guitarist Anthony Machiano. The two
made an immediate connection & soon began sorting through a variety of
melodies Chris had created through the years. Shortly thereafter, Chris learned
that longtime friend and bassist, Phil Firetog had returned home from college.
At the time Phil was at a personal crossroads in his own life & music
became the perfect outlet for his creativity. But, the group still needed
a drummer; enter Jason Turnier, who had been a mainstay on the local scene
for the last ten years. The journeyman had finally found a home with Paging
Grace and the final piece of the puzzle was now in place.
With their lineup complete, the band needed a name to
express their infectious piano driven sound. Grace was the name of
Chris grandmother who died when he was only 11. Always supportive of
his music, Chris believes that even after death, music brings the two of
them closer together. Chris explains, She was always there for me &
the name Paging Grace was a way we could carry a piece of her where ever
we go." With the hype they have been generating from listeners of every age,
if there is one individual that would be the most proud, it would be Grace.
"Everynight, while we're on stage we are doing exactly that, paging Grace,
because we think she'd get a kick out of all this!" Chris jokes.
Since their release of All Youre Made
Of, Paging Grace has attracted sold out crowds & packed out
venues all across Long Island and NYC. Including premier venues such as The
Knitting Factory (NYC), Mulcahy's (LI), Crash Mansion (NYC),
The Crazy Donkey (Suffolk) and Brookhaven Ampitheater(Nassau).
They have appeared in Newsday, News 12 Long Island, and made
the cover of the Long Island Press (July 08). With their loyal fan
base, radio friendly anthems, and immense web presence (Listed Top 10
Artist in New York by Myspace, Top 3 Local Entertainment by AOL
CityGuide), there has been unfathomably quick success, something Paging Grace
seems uniquely familiar with. |
